Human Activity

Human activity is still killing right whales, one of the most endangered animals in the ocean. An analysis of four decades of whale deaths shows that attempts to prevent them have not had a demonstrable impact. Only around 460 North Atlantic right whales (Eubalaena glacialis) are thought to be swimming the waters off the eastern seaboard of Canada and the United States. The governments of both countries have implemented several measures to protect whales from becoming entangled in fishing gear or being hit by ships, such as the US ‘ship strike rule’ that limits vessel speeds in certain areas. That rule came into force in 2008 and is due to expire next year.

Daily One Green Decision

You don’t have to be an Extreme Greenist to Go Green! Just one Daily Green Decision can go a long way like:

  1. Unplugging unused appliances and electronics when not in use.
  2. Say no to Paper and Plastic and choose Reusable.
  3. Plant trees or support tree planting.
  4. Do your exercise routine.
  5. Shorten your showers.
  6. Many more...

The average person decides to Go Green for one of three reasons:

-For The Environment

-For Their Health

-To Save Money

Need Nature To Thrive

Green living  is not  only about people. it is also about plants, animals, and the places they live.
Green living means thinking  about  climate change and energy use,as well as about biological  diversity
and the well-being of those who draw  their livelihoods from nature.

Does the World Need Saving?

No, the world doesn't need saving: It will continue on with us (just like it was here long before we came on the scene). Whatever pollution, destruction and extinctions we perpetrate on the Earth will, in the end, hurt us the most. What needs saving are human beings continue on-we are capable of really great things.Or self-destruction. I choose the former, which is why I'm an environmentalist, and sport the green living life.

Save Space and Water with Vertical Gardening

Wall Gardening

With mesh and wiring, wall gardens are another striking solutions perfect for minimal space like patios and tiny backyards. The living walls offers salad fixings along with creative, eye-catching conversations pieces. Again, the system makes use of water by using a steady stream utilized by the entire system leaving little water trickling away. It is also a great idea for elderly gardeners or those with physical limitations where bending over and kneeling is virtually impossible. This system puts little to no stress on the back and knees and is simple enough for children to water and mist.

Repel Those Pests Naturally

Many commercial insect repellents contain chemicals that can be toxic to humans when they are not washed off the skin after a few hours or if they are by accidently ingested, such as the powerful repellent DEET. There are some more natural ways to ward off the mosquitos, wasps and other summer critters that don’t require as many chemicals.

Put your clothes on! - For starters, a great way to repel bugs from your skin is to wear clothing at dusk (when the bugs are out in full force!) that provides a lot of cover, like a long-sleeve shirt or pants.

Citronella – Then there is always a good old citronella candle or citronella incense, which may not be the most effective insect repellents on the market but do mean no chemicals are applied to the skin.

Make your own, Naturally! If you’re looking for a contact repellent for the skin, there are a few DIY recipes for natural, plant-based repellents that are non-toxic but do need to be used still in safe quantities. These recipes use what are called essential oils mixed with an alcohol or a ‘carrier oil’ to dilute the essential oils so they’re safely applied to the skin.
